Three towns in Italy are named ‘Albino,’ ‘Magenta,’ and ‘Bra.’

The name of the color magenta comes from the Battle of Magenta, which was fought where the city now stands. Sad to say, albinism and brassieres did not originate in the other two cities.

That same amount of energy could light a 100 watt bulb for 4 hours. Recycling all the aluminum cans that were produced in 2002 would have conserved an amount of energy equal to over 30 million barrels of crude oil! If you throw a can in the trash, that’s the equivalent of filling that can halfway with gasoline, and then pouring it all out.

The good news pertaining to this matter is that…

Michael Jordan is almost never in NBA video games.

All players in the NBA typically fall under the group licensing agreement shared between the players’ union and the league, but in 1992 “His Airness” negotiated his own separate agreement. Subsequently, Jordan’s likeness has not appeared in the annual video game installments featuring players from across the league.

The upcoming “NBA 2K11” will not only have Michael Jordan in the game, but he will also be featured on the cover!…

This allows them to have a complete 360-degree range of vision around their body. When they locate prey, they can focus both their eyes in the same direction. This gives them excellent depth perception.

Natural gas does not originally have a strong smell.

Natural gas is commonly used for fuel and is composed mainly of methane gas, which is nearly odorless. A tiny amount of an odorant such as t-butyl mercaptan or thiopane is added as a safety feature. These odorants give the gas a very distinct and unpleasant smell in order to make the detection of gas leaks easier.

The average human foot contains over 250,000 sweat glands.

Your feet can pump out over a pint of sweat in a given day. The sweat by itself does not cause your feet to smell, though. All this perspiration attracts bacteria, which eat the sweet and excrete a waste product that can have a strong odor.

This is all completely normal, however – but the reason some feet smell worse than others is simply because some people sweat more than others!

Actually, Greenland is up 85% ice caps and glaciers. Even though it would make sense, there’s no truth to the rumor that they switched names.

And while Greenland was so named to encourage settlers, it’s doubtful that Iceland was named to discourage settlers.
